FM Strategy for the long term

FM strategy derives from creating value in circumstances when FM can respond to needs of a demand organization. Financial considerations are always essential, but FM strategy arises from learning of or originating, then working with, initiatives of owners, operators, and other stakeholders - that indicate what FM should propose and deliver.

Decisive to the FM organization to seek, then work with, a demand organization, whether at the executive tier in house or with an outside client, are value drivers to target and deliver key outputs. The strategy goal of GFMA consultants is that client FM organizations possess and make use of value drivers, as many as apply, in discerning and meeting demand organization strategic initiatives.

Value drivers are FM organizational characteristics that win and perform during client engagements. Their names are plain, like performance, productivity, or sustainability, but their realizations are extensive and specific.
